Self-Care excuses Part III - I have kids, no chance

Kids and Self-Time?

With my kids around I have no time for myself…

This one is pretty close to the previous ones, because you’re tired and exhausted and don’t have much time. Though it’s a bit different. You can use this excuse as the ultimate one, as no one can argue with the facts that you have kids, you have to take care of them, and you just can’t have any more on your plate… You are up to Self-Care and try to do things for your health and well-being, but not frequently enough.

I won’t be able to give you a magic incantation, because let’s be honest .. there are indeed moments of mom’s lives when that tiny sweetheart or those running toddlers really need a lot of our time and energy. BUT.

We also know that we are so much more balanced, more patient and fun when we also have a break, and afterwards our babies also feel this balance and the whole atmosphere is better at home, right? So not just for our own well-being, but for our family’s happiness, it’s key to have a break and prioritize Self-Care.

So I can’t give you magic, but some tips, surely..

The key is, that you don’t have to do it all alone.

Don’t try to fight every battle by your own, don’t try to pretend that you have everything under control, so just that you get more stressed and frustrated.

Stop for a moment, slow down and ASK FOR HELP.

If it’s a call to a friend, or ventilating in a supportive group, or ask for friend’s opinion..by all means. However what I’m talking about it’s really the actual help, when you ask someone to come and help around while you take a break and go somewhere. It sounds pretty simple, however we don’t do it frequently enough, as if we could leave only in case of extremly important appointments..

Just because you leave your kids with your MIL or a babysitter, you are still a wonderful mom, actually even better, because your kids can grow up experiencing that it’s totally OK to take care of ourselves and find the time to fill our own tanks.

The best would be if you could leave the house and actually go somewhere by yourself: having a facial, a massage, a nice walk, a glass of wine with the girls..So that time is actually just about you and that is totally OK 😉

When was the last time when you left the house and had some nice self-time?

If you can (because of COVID), book an appointment right away.

Have a wonderful week,

XO
