How to create habits to support your goals?

Do you know what your habits are?

We do things with such a routine that we are not even aware of these activities. So let’s just stop for a moment and think about your normal day, how it looks like.

When do you wake up?

What do you start your day with?

What do you have for breakfast?

What do you eat in a normal day?

How much do you exercise?

Do you have returning thoughts?

When do you have a little bit of time for yourself?

When do you slow down in the evening?

When do you go to bed?

Do you have a night-time routine?

Our brain is exposed to so many stimulus during a day that if it would react to all of it we would just go crazy. The brain’s main function is to filter this info tsunami to protect us. Therefore the brain loves routines, habits, because it doesn’t require extra attention so it can save energy. In order to create a habit, time and practice is needed though.

Are you ready to create supportive habits?

The most sucessful people have some things in common, for example they are very conscious about their time, what they are spending time with, what they say Yes or No to. We all are given the same amount of time (a day), it’s up to us how we manage it. What kind of habits would you like to give your time to?

Our habits can support, hinder or even delay or goals. It’s super important to consciously create habits that will rather support our goalsetting.

Let’s look at some examples:

You would like to get rid of the extra kilos (still from preggo time), but you just don’t have time to prepare healthy food so you eat any left-over or some prepared junk-food.

You would like to learn something new, because you don’t wanna go back to your job, but you are always exhausted to read a new book or enroll in a program, it’s so much easier to watch a new episode.

You would like to grow, be successful, but you’re afraid to go all in, to invest in yourself... so you better just watch other succesful insta mamas or get sucked into a TV show.

Don’t have any misconception here, it’s not this obvious, not black and white. We don’t even recognise these connections. But we have to face the results like: self-sabotage, constant fear and anxiety, giving up, procrastination, complaining.. etc.

I want you to know that it’s totally OK. We all face this, we all have to fight this. There is nothing wrong with you. Your brain is seeking pleasure and it’s bloody hard to convince it to do uncomfortable actions.

But! When you reach a certain point and you say that enough is enough, I want more, I’m here for more, I deserve more. Then you are ready to change your habits.

Here are the 4 necessary steps to create supporting habits:

1.      Be 100% clear with your goals and know your WHY – why do you want to achieve them?

2.      List all the habits that would support these goals

3.      Pick the supporting habits which are a bit uncomfortable but still realistic to implement

4.      Schedule these new habits into your life and start practicing. ( Don’t forget that habits need time and practice)

It won’t be easy dear. It won’t. There will be obstacles and then you won’t feel like it and the old habits will try to draw you back. That’s why it’s key to know your true, deep WHYs. If your WHYs are strong enough, you’ll get there. You can fail only if you give up or you don’t even try.

For me exercising is this pain point. I always jump in it, and do it, but then life happens, I have so many stuff to do and the regular exercising begins to get just rarely exercising.. and so on. This year I’ll be better and more strict :D, so far it’s good.

Which are the habits that would support Your long-term goal?

Daily exercising?

Going into bed earlier?

Waking up earlier?

Less sugar?

Healthy eating?

Daily reading?

Tell me! Write me at least one supporting habit that you are willing to implement 😊 With writing it down now – it already boosts the chance to actually do that 😉
